Privacy Policy

What California Housing Prices collects, why, who receives it and your California privacy rights. Effective November 2, 2026.

1. Who we are

California Housing Prices (www.californiahousingprices.com) is an independent California real estate information site operated by California Housing Prices ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who receives it and the choices you have. It applies to this Site only. Effective date: November 2, 2026.

2. What we collect

You can read the whole Site without telling us who you are. We collect personal information in two ways: when you send an enquiry, and automatically in request logs when your browser loads a page. We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account details, precise location or any other sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

The Site does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking scripts, and does not track you across other websites.

3. How we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and pass it to the featured local agent for the place you name.
  • To keep a record of your enquiry and your consent to be contacted.
  • To run, secure and fix the Site, including blocking spam and automated abuse.
  • To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate.
  • To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your information for any other purpose without telling you first.

4. Who receives it

The featured local agent. When you send an enquiry, you ask us to share your name, email, phone, the place and what you need with the featured local agent for that place, a licensed California real estate agent who pays to be featured on the Site. That agent may contact you by phone, text message or email about your enquiry. Once the agent has your details, their own privacy practices apply to how they use them. You can ask the agent to stop contacting you at any time, and you can reply STOP to any text message.

Service providers who process information for us under contract and only to provide their service: website hosting and request logs (Vercel), our database (Supabase) and email delivery (Resend).

Legal and safety. When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of the Site, our users or others.

Business transfer. If the Site or our business is sold or merged, personal information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Passing your enquiry to the agent you asked to hear from is a disclosure you direct, not a sale.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for up to three years after your last enquiry, so we can show what you agreed to and answer questions about it, then delete them. Request logs are kept for up to 90 days, except where we need them longer to investigate abuse. We delete records sooner when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep them.

6. Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and who received it.
  • Get a copy of that information.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete information we hold about you, with exceptions the law allows.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask.
  • Not be treated differently for using any of these rights.

To make a request, email privacy@californiahousingprices.com or use our contact form and say what you want. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. To protect you, we verify a request by matching the email address or phone number you used in your enquiry, and we may ask for one more detail. You can use an authorized agent; we will ask for your signed permission. California residents may also ask, under Civil Code section 1798.83, whether we disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. We disclose an enquiry only to the agent you asked to hear from, about that enquiry.

7. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information or track you across websites, a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal does not change how the Site works.

8. Security

Information is sent to us over an encrypted connection and stored with access limited to the people and providers who need it. No system is completely secure, so do not send information through the Site that you would not want exposed, such as account numbers.

9. Children

The Site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact privacy@californiahousingprices.com and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page with a new effective date. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.

11. Contact

Questions or requests about this policy: privacy@californiahousingprices.com, or our contact form.
