Healdsburg schools on the California School Dashboard (2025)
The California School Dashboard is the state's official report card. It does not give letter grades. For English and math it reports how far students' average test scores sit above or below the "met standard" line, in points, and it rates each result from Red (lowest) through Orange, Yellow and Green to Blue (highest), based on both the current level and the change from the year before. The 2025 Dashboard uses tests taken in spring 2025.
| School or district | English (points vs standard) | Math (points vs standard) | Graduation rate | Chronic absenteeism |

| Healdsburg Elementary | +13.1 (Green) | +14.5 (Green) | n/a | 11.4% (Yellow) |
| Healdsburg Junior High | +5.3 (Green) | -53.1 (Yellow) | n/a | 20.9% (Orange) |
| Healdsburg High | +51.2 (Green) | -46.6 (Yellow) | 98.5% (Blue) | n/a |
| Marce Becerra Academy | too few tested | too few tested | 88.2% | n/a |
| California (state) | -8.1 | -42.4 | 87.8% | 17.1% |
Source: California Department of Education, 2025 Dashboard data files, all students. Chronic absenteeism is the share of students who missed 10% or more of school days; the Dashboard reports it for grades K-8 only. Small schools may show no color when fewer than 30 students were counted.
Read across the table and two patterns stand out. Healdsburg Unified scores above the state average in English at every tested level, and its graduation rate, 96.7%, is nine points above the state's 87.8%. Math is weaker after fifth grade: the junior high and high school both sit below the standard line, though the district's math result improved by 4.2 points on the year.
Healdsburg Unified schools one by one
Healdsburg Unified School District runs the public schools in the city, from preschool through 12th grade, from its office at 1028 Prince Avenue. These are its schools as listed by the district.
Healdsburg Elementary School, First Street campus (TK to grade 2)
The district's elementary school has two campuses. Transitional kindergarten through second grade meet at 400 First Street. The school's site lists weekly enrichment in music, art, LEGO robotics, garden and nutrition, and fitness, plus English language development support. Students here are too young for state tests, so the Dashboard scores in the table come from the upper campus.
Healdsburg Elementary School, Fitch Mountain Campus (grades 3 to 5)
Third to fifth grade attend the Fitch Mountain Campus at 520 Monte Vista Avenue. The school describes a blended model in which each student has a humanities teacher for reading, writing and social studies and a STEM teacher for math and science. On the 2025 Dashboard the elementary school scored 13.1 points above standard in English and 14.5 above in math, both Green, and its chronic absenteeism fell from 14.8% to 11.4%.
Healdsburg Junior High School (grades 6 to 8)
The junior high at 315 Grant Street serves about 300 students in grades six to eight, according to its website, with electives that include theater arts, observational drawing and painting, and food science. Its English result rose 34.5 points in a year to 5.3 points above standard, earning Green. Math remained 53.1 points below standard (Yellow), and 20.9% of students were chronically absent, rated Orange, so ask the school what it is doing on attendance.
Healdsburg High School (grades 9 to 12)
Healdsburg High is at 1024 Prince Street. Its website lists Advanced Placement exam registration, a career technical education section, an internship program, community service and a wellness center. In 2025, 98.5% of its graduating cohort finished on time (131 of 133 students), rated Blue, and students tested at the school scored 51.2 points above standard in English. Math, at 46.6 points below standard, fell 4.9 points on the year.
Marce Becerra Academy (alternative high school)
Marce Becerra Academy is the district's alternative high school option, linked from the high school's academic pages. Too few students were tested for a Dashboard color in English or math, but its graduation rate was 88.2%, 15 of 17 students, which is above the state average. Ask the district who is eligible and how students are referred.
Fitch Mountain Preschool (Healdsburg Unified)
The district also lists Fitch Mountain Preschool among its schools. Preschool is not rated on the Dashboard. Contact the district office for eligibility, schedules and any fees.
Small school districts around Healdsburg
Not every address with a Healdsburg mailing address is in Healdsburg Unified. Two one-school elementary districts in Sonoma County, West Side Union and Alexander Valley Union, are worth checking for rural addresses, and both posted strong 2025 Dashboard results. Your address decides which district you are in, so check before you assume.
West Side Union Elementary School District (West Side School)
West Side School is at 1201 Felta Road, Healdsburg, and its history page describes kindergarten through sixth-grade classes. On the 2025 Dashboard its students scored 73.2 points above standard in English and 59.9 above in math, both Blue, with 11.4% chronic absenteeism. The school's site says students from outside the district are admitted only once in-district enrollment is met, that a kindergarten lottery has been used, and that out-of-district families provide their own transportation.
Alexander Valley Union Elementary School District (Alexander Valley School)
Alexander Valley Union is also a one-school district. Its 2025 results were 55.9 points above standard in English (Blue) and 28.0 above in math (Green), with 7.8% chronic absenteeism. About 61 students were tested, so a few scores can shift the result from year to year. Ask the district for its boundary map and its transfer policy before you rely on it.
School choice, transfers and charter options in Healdsburg
Families can apply to attend a school outside their home district through an interdistrict transfer. Healdsburg Unified's enrollment page links to its interdistrict transfer page, and West Side's site describes how it fills out-of-district places. A transfer is not guaranteed, and West Side says out-of-district families provide their own transportation, so do not buy a home on the strength of a transfer you have not been granted.
Healdsburg Unified's own school list does not include a charter school, and the 2025 Dashboard files list no charter school within the district. Charters do appear in the Dashboard files under neighboring Windsor Unified, including Village Charter; see our Windsor schools guide. Private schools are not covered by the Dashboard; ask each school for its accreditation and results.
How to check which school serves a Healdsburg address
Never rely on a listing that says a home is "in" a school. Boundaries change, and a listing description is not a district record. Use these steps instead.
Call or visit the Healdsburg Unified district office
The district office at 1028 Prince Avenue, phone (707) 431-3480, can confirm which school serves a specific address and whether the address is in the district at all. Registration requires a residency form and proof of residency, plus proof of age, immunization records and the last report card, so have the address in writing.
Look up each school on the California School Dashboard
Search the school by name on caschooldashboard.org and open its full report. Check the student groups and the change from last year, not just the color. A small school can move a full color with a handful of students.
Check rural addresses for West Side or Alexander Valley
For homes outside the city limits, ask the county or each district which elementary district the parcel belongs to. These districts serve elementary grades, so ask where their students go for high school.
School bonds also show up on your tax bill. Healdsburg Unified's bonds are part of the local rate; our Sonoma County property tax guide shows them. For the wider housing picture, see our Healdsburg homes for sale guide.
