Laguna Niguel schools on the California School Dashboard
California does not give schools letter grades. The California School Dashboard rates each indicator with one of five colors: Red (lowest), Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue (highest). A color blends the current result with the change from the year before, which is why a school with a high score that slipped can show Green rather than Blue. The table uses the California Department of Education's 2025 Dashboard data files, which cover the 2024-25 school year, downloaded in October 2026. It lists every active public school that the CDE school directory places at a Laguna Niguel address, ordered by English results.

Test results are shown as distance from standard: the average number of points by which students in grades 3 to 8 (and 11 at high schools) scored above (+) or below (-) the grade-level standard on the state tests. Chronic absence is the share of students who missed at least 10% of the days they were enrolled; lower is better.

The district's page lists the 2026 window as January 5 to February 1, 2026, for the 2026-27 school year, and says new students can also apply when they enroll. How to check which school serves a Laguna Niguel address
Never rely on a listing, a map app or a neighbor to tell you which school a home is assigned to. Boundaries change, and a street can be split between schools. Take these steps:
- Enter the exact address in Capistrano Unified's School Locator, which identifies the assigned schools by street address. Turn on the attendance boundary layer to see where the lines fall.
- Call the school's office to confirm the address is in its area and ask whether the grade you need has space.
- Look up each school on the California School Dashboard, including the results for the student groups that matter to you.
- If you plan to use School of Choice, read the district's rules before you rely on it.
