Saratoga school results on the 2025 California School Dashboard
The California School Dashboard reports English and math as the average distance from the grade-level standard on state tests, in points: zero means students scored right at the standard on average. It also gives each result a color from Red (lowest) through Orange, Yellow and Green to Blue (highest), which combines the current level with the change from the year before. The figures below are for all students, from the California Department of Education's 2025 Dashboard data files.

Other elementary districts inside Saratoga
Saratoga Union School District says homes within the City of Saratoga are served by four TK-8 districts: Campbell, Cupertino, Moreland and Saratoga Union. A Saratoga mailing address therefore does not by itself mean Saratoga Union schools.

The state's 2025 English and math figures for Campbell Union at the district level cover a small tested group in the data file we used, so check the district's own schools on the Dashboard and confirm assignment with the district.
How school placement works in Saratoga Union
Saratoga Union is an open enrollment district. Its boundaries page says no address is assigned to a particular elementary school. Families list a first and second choice among Argonaut, Foothill and Saratoga Elementary when they register, and placement depends on space at that grade. Residents are guaranteed a seat at one of the three schools, not at a particular one, and proximity is not a factor.
Registration in early spring treats all on-time requests equally. If requests for a grade at one school exceed space, the district may hold a lottery in summer. A student not placed at the first-choice school stays on a waiting list for the first two weeks of school, then finishes the year at the assigned school. Families moving in later in the spring can register conditionally while they gather proof of residency.
How to check schools for a Saratoga address
Never rely on a listing, a ZIP code or a map app for school assignment. Saratoga Union says it publishes no boundary map for distribution and bases district assignment on county assessor data. Before you make an offer, do the following.
- Search the address on the Santa Clara County Assessor's property search and open the School District/Tax Rate Area tab. If it shows Elementary School: Saratoga Union, the parcel is in the district.
- For grades nine to 12, use the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District's school boundary tool, or contact the high school district shown on the assessor record.
- For boundary questions, the district refers families to the Santa Clara County Committee on District Boundaries.
- Look up each school on caschooldashboard.org for the full set of indicators, including student groups.
