Danville ZIP codes at a glance

Zillow's typical home value and Redfin's median sale price measure different things, so compare each column only with itself. The one-year change is Zillow's. Diablo's Redfin figure rests on two sales and tells you little.
Each Danville ZIP code in detail
ZIP 94526: most of the Town of Danville
94526 is the ZIP on Danville's civic addresses, including the Town offices and the Danville Police Department at 500 La Gonda Way. The Census Bureau's 2020 ZIP-to-place relationship file shows 99.7% of the ZIP's land inside the town, and the ZIP holds about 72.6% of the town's land. It covers about 13.2 square miles.
The Census counts 32,584 residents in the 94526 area (ACS 2020-2024), with a median household income of $225,097 and 84.1% of occupied homes lived in by their owners. Redfin's median sale price in the three months to September 2026 was $1,699,501, up 5.4% on a year earlier, with homes taking a median 27 days to sell. By property type, Redfin counts 76 detached house sales (median $1,899,521), 23 townhouses ($1,132,502) and 11 condos ($919,973). Zillow's typical home value of $1,711,410 is 60.8% higher than in September 2016.
ZIP 94506: eastern Danville and the Blackhawk area
zip-codes.com lists Blackhawk as an alias name for 94506, and the Census file explains why. Of the ZIP's roughly 18.7 square miles of land, 26.3% is inside the Town of Danville, 31.0% is in the Blackhawk Census area, 6.8% in Camino Tassajara and 1.1% in Diablo. The other 34.8% is outside any named Census place. So a 94506 address can be in the town or in unincorporated county land, and that changes who provides police and some other services.
The 94506 area had 27,055 residents, a median household income at the Census top code of $250,000 or more, and an owner-occupancy rate of 88.1%. Redfin's median sale price was $2,199,354 across 76 sales, down 4.8% on the year, with a median 28 days on market. Detached houses accounted for 68 of those sales at a median of $2,299,420. Zillow's typical value of $1,982,682 fell 1.2% over the year but is 64.6% higher than ten years earlier.
ZIP 94528: Diablo
94528 is a small ZIP almost entirely made up of the Diablo Census area, with a sliver of the Town of Danville. The Census counts 1,049 people. Zillow's typical value was $3,107,080 in September 2026, up 3.9% on the year. With only a handful of sales a quarter, ask for recent comparable sales rather than relying on any median. We do not have a data page for this ZIP.
ZIP 94507: Alamo, next door
94507 is Alamo's ZIP. The Census file shows a very small part of the Town of Danville inside it, about 0.2% of the ZIP's land. Zillow's typical value was $2,532,469, up 5.2%, and Redfin's median sale price was $3,199,060 across 48 sales. Redfin's figure jumped 30.6% on a year earlier, which says more about which homes happened to sell than about the market. The Census counts 14,586 residents and an owner-occupancy rate of 91.9%.
ZIPs 94583 and 94582: San Ramon
94583 includes a small edge of the Town of Danville, with the rest of its land split between San Ramon and unincorporated areas. Its Zillow typical value was $1,331,929, down 2.8%, with Redfin's median sale price at $1,399,589 across 85 sales. 94582, San Ramon's other main ZIP, does not overlap Danville in the Census file; its typical value was $1,664,501, down 3.0%. Both have lower owner-occupancy than the Danville ZIPs, at 72.1% and 70.3%.
Why Danville's ZIP figures and town figures differ
The two Danville ZIP areas hold 59,639 people between them, while the Town of Danville counts 43,401 (ACS 2020-2024). The gap is mostly 94506: Blackhawk (10,137 people) and Camino Tassajara (5,831) are counted as separate places but share the Danville ZIP. The same split shows in sales. Redfin's Danville city figure covers 141 sales in the three months to September 2026 at a median of $1,799,143, while the two ZIPs together recorded 185.
When you see a Danville price quoted, check whether it is for the town or the ZIP. A 94506 median includes sales in Blackhawk and Camino Tassajara; a town median does not.
Which Danville ZIP code costs more?
94506 is the more expensive of Danville's two ZIPs on both measures: Zillow's typical value is $271,272 higher than in 94526, and Redfin's median sale price is about $500,000 higher. 94526 has more variety. Among the nearby ZIPs, Diablo's 94528 and Alamo's 94507 sit above both Danville ZIPs on Zillow's measure, and San Ramon's 94583 sits below.
How to use Danville ZIP code data
- Confirm the jurisdiction. In 94506, check whether the parcel is in the Town of Danville or unincorporated county. The tax bill's tax rate area shows which district charges apply; our Contra Costa County property tax guide explains how to read it, and the Mello-Roos guide covers special taxes to look for.
- Check schools by address. Danville is served by the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. Use the district's address lookup rather than the ZIP; see our Danville schools page.
- Mind the sample size. A quarter with 76 to 109 sales can swing several percent on the mix of homes. Each ZIP's data page has the monthly history.
- Crime data is by agency, not ZIP. See our Danville crime data page.
