Fairfield Schools: State Results by School and How to Check Yours

Fairfield homes are served by two public school districts: Fairfield-Suisun Unified, which scored 26.3 points below the state standard in English on the 2025 California School Dashboard, and Travis Unified, which scored 7.1 points below. Results vary far more between schools than between districts, from 64.7 points above standard at Angelo Rodriguez High to more than 90 below at some elementary schools. Below are the official figures for each school and how to confirm which ones serve an address.

How to read the California School Dashboard for Fairfield

The California Department of Education (CDE) publishes the California School Dashboard instead of letter grades. Each indicator gets one of five performance colors. Red is the lowest, then Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue. The color reflects both this year's result and the change from last year, so a school with a modest score that improved sharply can earn the same color as a high scorer that slipped.

We use four indicators on this page:

  • English language arts (ELA) and math: the average distance, in scale-score points, between students' results and the "standard met" level on the state tests (grades 3 to 8 and 11). Zero means the average student met the standard; a negative number means below.
  • Graduation rate: the share of a high school's four-year cohort that graduated.
  • Chronic absenteeism: the share of students in kindergarten to grade 8 who missed at least 10% of school days. A lower figure is better.

Every figure here comes from the CDE's 2025 Dashboard data files, which cover the 2024-25 school year, read on October 30, 2026. Addresses and grade spans come from the CDE public schools directory. The 2026 Dashboard normally appears in December, so check the live site once it is out.

Travis Unified's school locator page says all of its high school students attend Vanden High and all middle school students attend Golden West Middle.

Districts this size contain schools that are far above and far below their averages, which is why the school-level tables below matter more than the district line.

How to check which schools serve a Fairfield address

Never rely on a listing that says a home is "zoned for" a school. Boundaries change, and some schools are full.

  1. Find the district first. The property tax bill shows the tax rate area, and Fairfield's main area 3000 lists Fairfield-Suisun Unified on the Solano County Auditor-Controller's 2026-27 rate sheet. Builders at One Lake state that their homes are in Travis Unified.
  2. Use the district's own lookup. Travis Unified publishes a school locator. For FSUSD, contact the district enrollment office through fsusd.org with the exact address.
  3. Read the school's own Dashboard page. Search the school on the California School Dashboard for student group results and the full color set.
  4. Ask about transfers. Travis Unified says students may request a school other than their resident school when space allows; ask FSUSD's enrollment office the same question and the current deadlines.
